I?ve been using one of Chapman?s little ratchets for years and I never thought to look up the company. They make some pretty cool American made tools.

I have had the screwdriver set with optional hex bit set since the early 1980's, and have replaced a few bits over the years, top quality that has always performed. I have other driver sets as well and the Chapman always accompanies me to the range with my gear.sigpic

I love the little chapman ratchet.
Sometimes, there is just no other tool that will do the job.
Case in point; a few days ago an AK came in with a bolt-on stock where the screw holding the stock goes through the rear trunnion from inside the receiver.
A regular allen wrench would not loosen the screw enough to turn the screw 1/6 of a turn to get the wrench into the socket head for the next 1/6 of a turn.
I used the little chapman ratchet with the proper sized hex bit and the screw came right out.Randall Rausch

Great tools; I've used them since the 80's.
They used to have their regular set "Chapman Screwdriver Kit" priced at about $50. They also had a "Chapman Gun Screwdriver Kit" which was identical aside from the addition of "Gun" to the stamping on the case, for $60 or $65.
That said, I keep their complete kit in my rifle box; gets used quite a bit (mostly by others, as do most of the tools I keep on hand.) Nice compact high-torque capable set for a reasonable price. Replacement bits are reasonable as well.Comment

When I found a Wadsworth mini ratchet kit I tossed all that Chapman garbage in the trash. Never looked back. wfmc.shopI?ve been using one of Chapman?s little ratchets for years and I never thought to look up the company. They make some pretty cool American made tools.

I bought a set, 3 or 4 of the bits crumbled in use, I didn't have the receipt, thay wanted far too much money to buy the broken bits.
Their warranty is crap, so were the bits I got. Maybe a bad batch, who knows. The ratchet is nice.
But eff them.Comment

No matter who's tools you end up with, Brownells, Chapman, Wheeler, etc.,do yourself a favor and toss all the bits into the lead pot for 5 or ten minutes. Draw back the temper a bit and they wont grenade on you when you have to add some gronk to bust a fastener loose.Comment
