    Light rust removal

I recently picked up a long gun that had some light rust. Likely put away while still wet. The bluing is good but I?d like to remove the rust.

    Thanks in advance!

    Brass wool with oil.
You can also use a copper penny with oil if the brass wool won't do it.
Make sure it's a solid copper penny though, not a zinc one with copper plating.

I have been successful using a pre 1982 copper penny and some gun oil.

Use oil and light pressure. Go slow.

They only made steel pennies in 1943, well a few miss strikes in 1944 that are real valuable. The current penny is copper plated zinc
