AK Series Raddlock

I got the ak raddlock,, and a solar tactical lock. Not sure which one to use. I really havent looked at the raddlock too closely but I see I have to drill out the rivet to install it. Can I convert the mag release back to the original setup using the screw that holds the raddlock, for out of state use. I can easily convert the solar tactical back to stock easily, but like the looks of the raddlock. Like I said I really havent looked at them too closely, as im not even at the point of installing them yet, but I did glance over the raddlock instructions, and saw the part to drill the rivet out.

I've got 6 solar tactical and two jumbopandas so, take a wild guess which one I'd tell you to use. Although Radlocks have a very devote following, I would never put one on an AK because you have to permanently modify the gun.

You really like the looks of the jumbopanda lock more? I think the solar tactical lock is the best AK lock design I've ever seen. It looks functionally better than the jumbopanda and you DO NOT have to permanently modify your rifle.

If you are asking which Id use, the raddlock or the solar tactical lock... no question: The Raddlock.

I personally dont use either. I have the jjperl and the jumbo panda.

My concern with the solar tactical is that while the magazine is off off the weapon, it is possible to BEND the lock tab back ( either with VERY strong fingers or just pushing the tab against the edge of the bench). Once its pulled back so that the finger can depress the mag lever... bingo. AW.

My 2 cents... the jumbo panda may be big and bulky, but it works and can be reversed easily.

Not without drilling the radlock out and rivetting the OEM release back in place.

My raddlocks attach using a metal pin with a C-clip on one side. I suppose you could rivet it in but I wouldn't bother with that, save that to either go featureless or if the AW law's (hopefully) change.

EDIT: Also I didn't drill the old pin out, I just used a metal punch and tapped it out gently. I don't know if this is good for the trigger guard but I'm better with a punch than a drill.

I was able to attach the old mag catch using the raddlock pin and C-clip. The only problem I noticed is that my Pro-mags wouldn't fit correctly. I guess if I put some time in and filed it, it would fit, but for the OP Yes you can use the raddlock pin and C-clip to convert it back. I actually would like to change my raddlock BB for the solar tactical.

The raddlock BB sometimes slips because the tool hole is small and takes careful attention to remove the mag.

radd has developed a change back lever for moves to free states. personally, i don't like anything i have to remove the pin to install. and proper application of a bfh will render all into aw's. jumbopanda rocks, i'm gonna try a solartactical on my next build for comparison. they look nice.

I did decide to put on the raddlock. They are using another type of clip not a e clip but a full circle clip, looks like it will hold better. Love the looks and action of it the tool is made perfectly for it.

where is this change back lever ?
