Hi everyone,

Hope this is the right forum for this.

A friend installed the sight on my CZ 75 SA. The sight did not go in easily and he ended up using a hammer and punch to get it in. As you can see, he missed a few times. I hate the way this looks and I'm wondering what my options for repairs are?

Is this a cerakote situation? File/sand/then coat?

CGW said they could help but I'd rather find a local shop if possible.

Find a shop that does exotic slide work, tell them you want the slide lightened, especially those marks removed, and sell the slide for a 300% markup on CalGuns!
J/K - sorry to see that. Easiest way, get a decent used slide, keep that one in the drawer or sell it. Might come in handy some day.

Just let your friend TIG weld that up, grind it back to shape and refinish. Good way to learn.

Get a new slide and let a competent gunsmith install sight.
Saw 1 for sale on ebay for ~ $40

That was painful to see, I can fix almost anything but even I think it would be ugly after any attempt at repair.

If I can get a new slide for just $40 that's way cheaper than one hour with a gun smith. Thanks!

Just my opinion but it's a (Nice) tool, not a safe Queen, so as soon as you fix this cosmetic issue there might be another that you notice or even possibly cause yourself.

The cheapest solution would be trying to dab the scratched areas with one of those Birchwood Casey instant blue Sharpie type markers.
