    Shield modifications

My S&W Shield is looking nice with its new optic. What other enhancements are Calguns recommended??? Improvements to trigger???

I have Apex on other pistols and I agree that their work is nice. I have a feeling my wife will want the same thing when I'm finished and I'm OK with that. Doing the work once gives me the experience to know mistakes to avoid the second time around. All of that aside, I'm liking the pistol a lot even though it isn't a 1911.

I do have to say that the sights on my original slide (which were much better than the ones on my optics cut slide) were very tight and took some effort to remove. Once removed, however, I was able to polish them down so the effort to use them on the optics slice was greatly reduced.

I'm likely in the minority but I like my Shield trigger as is and use a green Crimson Trace laser on it, it's a belly gun not a target pistol and I don't anticipate ever using it beyond 10 yards. I figure I can blind them first then dot their eyes.

I had to have randall finish the install. You need a sight pusher to install one spring.
I was able tl remove the rear sight. But could not get it the rear sight to go in straight.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Yes. dealing with that spring and its retaining cap was a bit of a pain. I had to get the sight on just far enough that the retaining cap was mostly held in place by the bottom of the rear sight. After that it was just a matter of pushing the sight home.
