need help on how to install trigger spring

Hi, my dads old Revelation model 350A 12 ga shotgun has a broken trigger spring
was able to find diagram and part on Numrich but putting the new one in is proving to be a problem.
How the heck does one reassemble?

I tried a few things and finally went with a toothpick broken off to hold it in place white reinserting the trigger (and spring) and driving the pin in, which drove out the toothpick at the same time but the spring broke.
Not sure it it was just a junk spring or a damaged it somehow while trying to install it. I ordered another one and its on its way but i dont want to repeat the same results
    anyone??

It sounds like you need a slave pin.
Most pins in guns are some standard inch or metric diameter.
You make a shorter slave pin to hold parts of an assembly together while you align them and drive in a longer pin which holds the rest of the assembly together and drives out the shorter slave pin.

But yeah; a punch set will often suffice if you don't need to slip the pre-assembly into the frame.
