Hey op, where are you located? That will help members guide you to a smith in a given area.

      Orange County.
      Location irrelevant.
2 of my last 3 attempts were out of state.. just looking for a reputable 1911 smith that can and will take on the work.. FedEx will do the rest.

          I got a response.
I’ll leave this thread here and update progress.

Quick search and skim through the previous threads.. I’m not the first person to need something like this. Didn’t see much in the way of followups posted for others.

I fit 1911 slides/frames/barrels/bushings and fire control parts by appointment, while you wait.
I don't do checkering, cosmetic milling, sight cuts or paint work at this time.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
                Most work performed while-you-wait.

Perhaps you can clarify what you mean with this specific statement then:

Typical fitting for a complete 1911 top end starts with the slide to the frame.
Then you can fit the bushing to the slide, the barrel to the bushing, slide and the slide stop.
Then you chamber and throat the barrel.
Then you do the firing pin stop, extractor and ejector.

That's the functional fitting work that effects feeding, firing, extraction and ejection.

The work you are also mentioning is outside work and is not critical to feeding, firing, extraction and ejection.

So who did you go with? The only people mentioned (aside from Randall) are DSC and Cifaldli.
