Recommendations for complete chrome removal from a barrel

I might be getting a rare barrel in chrome. Because this particular barrel is long discontinued, finding one in the finish I want isn't going to be easy.

I want to get the entire chrome finish all the way down back to steel so I can get it refinished in parkerizing hot bluing.

Any platers/refinishers you guys recommend to get this service done? Doesn't have to be local, but it's gotta be done right since the barrel has gas ports that need to be blocked off during the refinishing process. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

      Not a good game plan.

Barrels intended to be chrome lined are either made oversized to make ROOM for the chrome build-up or they are etched oversized BEFORE chrome plating.
If you removed the chrome, you will make the bore and groove oversized.
Put another way, you NEED the chrome in your chromed lined barrel to put it into spec.

You can take the chrome off the OUTSIDE by sandblasting.
Just make sure to mask the inside so that you don't blast the bore or chamber.
