    WASR scratch treatment

I'm looking for tips how to remove scratches from my WASR 10. There is a rather large charcoal colored scratch left from the selector lever. It was a result of my getting used to a maglocked ak. Any help would be appreciated.

The best way is to scratch it in a few more places, preferably while low crawling in the woods or dropping it while fording a creek.

Don't all AKs have a selector scratch?

            Unless they are safe queens...

            I wouldn't own a safe queen.

The selector will leave that scratch regardless. Nothing you can do about it

You probably get what the other people are hinting about oh, that an AK with scratches is OK but in case you're still looking for something that might help the old-time quick Fix solution for scratches on bluing was a product called Birchwood Casey black touch-up pen.

By now they probably have different shades and colors and fast drying options etc.

I've never used it myself and I would advise testing it on a place that doesn't show first because it might not match the color that you were looking for but it might if you go over the area several times or it might never match at all.

Scratch up the rest of the gun so that the selector scratch does not stick out so much.

                      Put selector switch into SAFE
Spray paint the entire receiver black
Always keep selector switch in SAFE, never flip it to FIRE

voila! Scratch is gone and will stay gone.
