    Saiga front sight conversion

Hi, anybody in the Bay Area that can assist me with a Saiga front sight conversion? I need to remove and replace front sight. Also would like to do front handguard retainer too. Anybody in Bay Area that could help? I can pay! Thanks!

It's not just the "front sight". It's the entire front sight base. Adding the standard AK-74 hand guard retainer also requires the removal and replacement of the gas block.

First question is do you already have the required AK-74 front sight base? The best replacement is a Bulgarian front sight base.

But if you want to go cheap PSA has a US made FSB. It's $50

Manufacturer: Palmetto State ArmoryPlatform: AK-74/AK-103 Finish:Unfinished Includes: Front Sight BaseDetentSpringRoll Pin

The hand guard retainer is cheap there too.

Buy them yourself before they go out of stock.

If you don't find someone closer, I do Saiga conversion work while you wait in the Los Angeles area.
Just get all your new parts and then schedule a time to come over and it's done in a couple hours, while you watch.

Anyone have any idea on where you can find the appropriate Russian parts for a Full conversion?

Start watching akfiles for-sale listings as well as the typical auction sites like gunbroker and eBay.
Prepare to spend big money because everyone wants an "all russian ak" but russian parts have not been imported for a long time so the supply/demand scale greatly benefits the sellers now.

          As an example:

Gunbroker has them, but they are very expensive.

You could use Bulgarian parts... You couldn't tell the difference between them and russian.

              Triangle-1 beats Circle-10 resale value.

I agree, but most of the needed parts aren't marked with arsenal markings, just mold numbers if that.

                    Arsenal parts are Bulgarian.
Arsenal imported Saigas and put Bulgarian parts on them in the USA.

                      Try kvar. For parts

Jmac makes a nice combo FSB/gas block setup

How are the gas block front sight combos on a full 16” rifle? They do look good
