    1911 Front Sight Install Issues

I purchased an MGW Sight Pro Universal Sight Installation Tool (along with all of the templates for various manufacturers) to change several of my pistol sights.

I have a Sig 1911 Nitron and wanted to switch out the sights. I ran into some issues with the front sight where the new 1911 (Trijicon) night sights do not stay on the post. I didn't see it needed any stakes but I guess I missed a step?

I'm in the Bay area so any help with a gunsmith or how to install the night sights would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

1911 sights need to be fitted. They rarely if ever just push in. Seen many a shops screw up slides using sight pushers to force 1911 sights on.

      i'm confused

night sights do not stay on the post

Is the vial or tritium falling out? or is the sight loose in the dovetail slot?
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

The first post is worded very poorly.
When I read it, I figured that the new sight blade was loose in the dovetail and would not stay in the slide.

Either he has the wrong sight blade for the dovetail, or the dovetail has been cut larger by a previous owner while fitting a different blade into the slide.
No way to know without knowing all the details that have been left out.
