    Remington 700 Trigger

Can the factory trigger be set to 2.5# safely ?
Or should I buy a Timney?

The OLD style (walker) trigger can be adjusted that low safely with a new spring.
The new style (x mark) with the smooth trigger face and the tension screw in the trigger shoe won't go that low.

Friend had a Remington redone. It became unsafe and would fire when it wanted to... he switched to a jewel

Is this a bench gun or a hunting gun where reliability of firing and the safety are needed?
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

        Thanks Randall,
It is the old style Walker.

Shop rifle parts (2,350) at Brownells, including barrels, stocks, triggers, and bolt carriers to customize, repair, or upgrade your rifle’s performance.

            Thanks,
Got it safely to #2.5 with factory spring but going to get the new spring anyway.
