    Magpul PRS gen 3 disassembly

    Hi all,

I'm trying to pin a Magpul PRS 3 to max so it can't be adjusted. Don't tell me I don't need to for featureless, I know it's not telescopic or folding, but I don't want to try it out in court against CADOJ.
So I'm trying to open it up. I got only so far, but now I'm stuck - something is binding and I can't figure out why.
I already spent many hours online trying to find someone that did it before; I found people disassembling gen 2s, but not gen 3s.

Any idea on what to try next other than just breaking it ?

    Thanks!

Did you slide the piece off that holds the two sides together?

    Also this:
On AR-15 style firearms, the buffer tube or receiver extension acts as the fixed part of the stock on which the telescoping butt stock slides or telescopes.
    Bold emphasis added.

A PRS stock does NOT telescope on the buffer tube or receiver extension.

No, I didn't know you could slide that piece off - I tried pushing it pretty hard, but it wouldn't slide; I'll try some more.
Thanks for the link! It's pretty clear that this would not be considered a telescopic stock. But if I can pin it easily, I'll just do it rather than taking the chance - call it irrational fear.

If I remember right, there's another screw under that piece.

I got it open, no screw under.

I appreciate the help! I couldn't have opened it without knowing that piece slides off.

I could not figure out a nice way to do it on the inside so I ended up pinning it like this:

Pasting here is case someone else wants to do this
