How do I remove my AK's handguards?

Sorry, but I'm new when it comes to AK's.

Can anybody tell me how to remove the two handguards from my WASR-10?

    Thank you.

Flip up the upper handguard retainer lever and pull the upper HG off. Make sure you've field stripped the AK and the bolt carrier is out.

Next flip the lower handguard retainer lever up and forward. Then push the HG retainer forward until it clears the HG. Then pull off the HG.

        hg

Tell me about quick, and with the picks too...

Take off dust cover and remove bolt carrier/bolt. There is a latch on the right side of the rear sight block. Turn it clock vise to 12:00 and remove upper HG with gas tube, pulling it up at the rear sight block and out of the gas block. For lower HG, remove the cleaning rod from your riffle. When you remove the upper HG/gas tube, you'll see a little lever at the front of lower HG retainer. Turn it 180 degrees counter clock vise, or parallel to the barrel fasing oposite direction, and pull the retainer towards the gas block, releasing the front ot the HG. Pull the lower HG out of the receiver.

        V.

How about the butt stock? Can it be removed by pulling it out after removing the two screws on the top?

yes, but you might need to pull really hard and wiggle it... a bench vise helps.

i'm pulling the s&!% out of it but it doesn't want to come off. I don't have a bench vise. I guess i'll just have to keep pulling.
              Thanks.

You'll probably need a vise or another person.

Somewhat related but does AK74 furniture fit on AK47s?

yup. the screw holes may not line up exactly.
the buttstock may be extremly hard to remove. many are assembled with the laquer wet, essentially gluing them in. sometimes a little heat from a heat gun or hiwatt blowdryer helps. you can try tapping CAREFULLY fron inside. (there is a screw under the topcover latch)
