9mm AR getting "doubles" with single trigger pull

I have an cmmg delayed 9mm AR when I pull the trigger I get the occasional "double" reaction to a single trigger pull. I'm using a 9mm lightened style hammer standard semi auto trigger and selector group.

Would using a drop in trigger solve this?

Either you are bump firing it by not holding the grip well or perhaps you have a disconnector/upside-down spring problem.

disconnecter spring has been double checked, I'm holding it like I hold my other AR in .300 BLK; range buddy ran into the same exact issue. Seems to only do it with 124grain/115grain, fatter stuff like 147grain+ not seeing the same issue.

            There's your problem then.
Those other AR's are not blowback guns so they behave better with a light hold.
Grip the gun and pull the trigger like you mean it and you won't get doubling.

This is a common problem for people new to 9mm AR's.

I appreciate the advice but, my goal is something I can hand to my GF without any special instructions. I don't want to get into politics but, LE frowns on anything that sounds like anything FA. Is there a drop- in trigger you'd recommend? I just want a reliable SA function. I'm eyeballing this

I don't care about a "good trigger" just a reliable one.

A scored a very good deal on an AR in 40 for this exact reason. The owner thought it was going FA and asked me to swap put the trigger. I put a drop in in it, test fired it a bunch before and after, and the first time he shot it, he thought it was FA again.

I've put thousands of rounds through it, with a couple different triggers, and never experienced what he did.

Don't remember, but not holding the rifle properly is the problem, as ar15barrels said, not the trigger.

Solved, by adding a trigger pack

That's how people bumpfire from the hip or their fat ( I kid you not I saw a big dude do it once on his shoulder) by finessing the trigger while letting the gun bounce.

Try pulling the trigger firmly and not letting go until you are ready to fire again.

Here's the deal, I've been shooting since I was 9 and my range buddies range from rookies to moderate shooters and we've all gotten the same issue, I'm not looking for some range-karen jamming me up. $130 trigger pack is worth not having to explain things to the rangemaster.

And yes it was a heck of a bump-firing machine, but I'm not into that kinda thing.

                            Funny

I have the same cmc trigger in my ar9
And had the same issues you’re concerned about

Had to slow my press to solve the burst fire issue.

What I’ve noticed is that it happens commonly with me for single stage
Partially because mentally I prep my break different

It’s still a good setup and I can get decent groups at 50yrds off hand
