ak47 rivet length?

    ak47 rivet length?

    how much of the rivet needs to stick out on the rear trunion in order to crush properly. i have the tapco rivets and they look long to me.

    The length isn't the problem. If you have a decent tool and are careful you can mash them to a nice head. It's easy to get them started bending and screw it up. It is often recommended to stick with AK-Builder rivets.

      For a round head set about 3 diameters of the rivet is the right length - That is common riveting practice -- ie 1/4" diameter rivet thru two 1/8" work pieces would be 1" long overall -- About the same for flat head set -
      Bucked a lot of rivets but not on a weapon -- my ha-penny
