    Kingpin install AR-15

I seemed to have messed up my detent pin (rear takedown) when installing AR-Maglock Kingpin. The castle nut is staked and a pain in the butt to remove. Is there any way to correct this error without removing the castle nut?

The gun is a DDM4V11 with cal catch 33.3 installed.

    Thanks in advance!

i have snuck out the detent by using a bent sewing needle then turned the pin was able to pull it out then use small needle nose pliers to remove and reinstall it

pushing another takedown pin in from the other side rotated 180 cause if it snaps in the grove i would have just gone back to bed
then push the correct one through

I see. I managed to remove the old detent pin. Now I just put the spring back in, but how do I get the new detent pin in there?

The LONGER detent pin for the kingpin can only be installed after removing the castle nut far enough to rotate the endplate and buffer tube enough to access the hole from the rear.

The whole reason it's made longer is so that it will not accidentally come out of the lower the very same way you removed the standard detent when you have the kingpin out of the lower.
