AR15 springs/rings still good after >15K rounds?

On AR15.con I read the spring replacement schedule was ~5000 rounds. My AR pistol continues to function flawlessly even though I still am using all the original consumable parts. The >15K is no exaggeration- I have been shooting 150-200 rounds (almost exclusively my reloads) each month since I got it in 2010.

The buffer spring is the same length as a new one and the extractor still works fine. Is this typical? Should I be changing the springs, gas rings and extractor?

Parts are cheap. Range time and ammo aren't. If it's your house gun, even more reason. It was beat into my head that preventive maintenence is cheaper than big repairs. I don't do round counts or I'd lose my mind. I would change them out after 5k but that's just me.

Gas ring test is as follows:

Remove bolt carrier group from firearm.
Pull bolt outward from carrier until it stops.
Gently stand bolt carrier group on table with bolt face/lugs on the table.
When gas ring tension is within spec, the bolt carrier should stand up without the bolt retracting into the carrier from the weight of the carrier.
If carrier collapses under it's weight, replace gas rings.
