Help w Beretta 92SB D spring install

I have an Italian Beretta 92SB. I wanted to change to D hammer spring. My pistol has a roll pin holding the spring in. I bought the D spring and the "dog bone" style pin to replace the roll pin. I have roll pin punch, but the roll pin ain't budging. From all I have seen it should come out easily. Has anyone done this swap on a gun with roll pin? Does anyone know a North Bay (Sonoma county) pistolsmith that is competent, in case I keep running into problems ?

Did you push in the Lanyard loop while trying to punch out the pin? Sometimes that helps. May need to soak pin in Kriol or similar product for a day or two.

The older Beretta's with the roll pin is a pain to remove. Had the same problem with a earlier Italian 92 that I swapped out to a D spring. I was able to tap it out by using a good bench block, punch and ball peen hammer. It took quite a bit of effort to tap it out.

With the roll pin there is no need to push the MSH plug, and in fact you can't. The 'push in' thing only becomes a thing and a requirement after the stepped pin is installed.

What is needed here is a bench block on a sturdy surface, and a bigger hammer and/or more Wheaties

Ah sorry for the confusion. I did buy my M9A1 used with some upgrades so I guess that was one of them? It was similar to my CZ so I just rolled with it. Thk for the clarification.
