    80PercentArms.com Are they trustworthy?

    Hi all:
A month ago I ordered an "Easy Jig Gen 3 Multi-Platform 80% Lower Jig" kit from 80percentarms.com.
I knew they'd be busy and slammed, due to all the anti-gun news out there.
It annoyed me a bit that they immediately charged my card. Boom, $370.

Can anyone here tell me about their experience with this company?
Are they trustworthy? Do they deliver?
And what's a reasonable backlog and delay time to wait, before I have good reason to be anxious?

Should I just take a breath and sit back and wait, and trust them?

    Thanks,

They are a good company. Seems like they have a lot of backorder items. I would reach out to them and ask about an ETA if you are concerned

It took about 6 months for a buddy to get his Gen 3.

I was thinking about ordering an 80% 1911 just to have something different to do, so the timing of this post is great.

Now all I need to do is get caught up on the legalities of ordering a "ghost gun" and if there's anything I need to know before plunking down some hard earned cash.

All the Jig makers are having issues with filling orders. Given the current political environment and the "AFT" stance or changes.
80%Arms no problems or issues with them. Mine took
about 8 weeks, from time of order. I've waited longer for
other stuff, never in a hurry.
So sit back and wait, patience is a virtue few people have.

I got mine inside a week. But I think because I only live like 15 miles from them. I actually went to their showroom but it was closed.

I have had successful interactions with them. Yes one item took over a year I believe but everything was successful and I was very pleasantly surprised with quality.

When you get your Jig, let us know.

Anyone and Everyone, is it against cal guns rules to ask if one could use, lend borrow a jig? compensated or not?

Just asking, please educate, dont assassinate...lol

Well, I've waited for their GST-9 for over a year. Still didn't get it. Last I checked they were shipping the orders from June of 2020

WARNING: Won't ship to UPS Stores; Wants your real address; WON'T REFUND

This reflects my experience dealing with them so far:

WARNING: 80percentarms.com REFUSES TO REFUND OR CANCEL UNSHIPPED ORDERS

This is the journal of interactions, including emails:

WARNING: 80percentarms.com won't ship to UPS Stores; wants your real address; WON'T CANCEL ORDERS

You be the judge on trustworthiness, but I'll never do business with them again.
                        That's just my $1.05.

I can reverse charges on my CC for up to 90 days. Not sure about yours... You should check what the limit is for your CC and notify the seller that if they don't ship a week before the expiration of your reversal window, that you'll cancel the order via your CC.

Then, if they don't ship, call your CC and reverse the charges..

I was forced to do this once and the company involved literally shipped on the last day. I was worried that the tracking number was fake, but I did finally get what I ordered. Good luck on yours.

Let me also say that my issue was with a different company and happened several years ago.

Thanks, but I'm not looking for advice on how to handle my specific transaction. I have that handled and am engaged in appropriate strategies. My contribution here is in response to OP's original question, i.e., are they trustworthy?

At this point, given the amount of evasion, I am so far beyond my ability to trust them, I am beyond words. But read the thread I posted and judge for yourself.

As far as I can tell, they are doing everything they can to stall, evade, ignore, and avoid honoring my more-than-timely request to cancel and refund. They won't (or I suspect can't) return my money. I don't want a shipment anymore. I want my funds, which I am pursuing with vigor and through all available channels.
                            That's just my $1.05.

And some credit card companies will EXTEND that chargeback timeline to after SHIPPING regardless of how long that is.
This is because vendors are not supposed to charge the card until shipment is expected in a very short time period (days, not weeks).
It's against most card processor agreements to collect payments when the vendors know that shipment will be multiple days/weeks/months away.
The sellers in those extended shipping situations are supposed to collect the card info and then run the card once they are ready to ship.

That's how big companies like Brownells/Midway always do it.
