Checkering Guide.....which do you prefer?

Hi, i had a DC Checkering guide but i lent it out and it flew away.

Would love to get another one but Brownells said they don't make it any longer.

There are a couple of types still commercially available....wondering if anyone had any preferences for a particular make/model.

Used would be fine if it's in good shape but i tried eBay and gun broker to no avail.

thanks....hoped to find the DC product but Brownells says it's no longer available...may have to try out the midway product you listed.
just a little update in case anyone is interested. I found the contact for the DC guide and he responded by email that he no longer produces them. unfortunate as it's a very nice tool. that said, i'm just using a simple block of steel and a clamp and it's working just fine.

i never did find the U shaped guide i was searching for.

that said, i did spend some quality time speaking with and learning from a good friend who is a well known gunsmith. his hand checkering in a work of art. he uses a very straight piece of metal which he clamps on to the side of the frame and uses that as his guide.....after truing the frame and establishing a midline.
