KAHR P9 PARKERIZING
I am not sure if this can be done i want to parkerize a kahr p9 ss slide. tell me if i can, and how. i like all black finish better

Most SS's won't work for park. They get a little gray, but not deep.
You'd be better off with doing an oxide (melonite, Ion Bond, etc.)
You could also go with DuraCoat or similar.

Like any of the painted on finishes, it will eventually wear off. Its durability is dependent upon the quality of the surface prep, but regardless of prep it will eventually wear, especially on the high spots. While fairly simple to apply, Duracoat is not the most durable of spray-on finishes out there. The reason that it is so popular is because you don't have to bake the finish like many of the other spray finishes, which means that you can apply it to a myriad of surfaces, including plastic and wood.Comment

If you want something tougher, I've used Brownells bake-on gun coating, and it has held up very well on a trigger guard. Surface prep and de-greasing are critical. You would probably need to disassemble, mask off, and then silicon-carbide blast it to give it a rough enough surface for the coating to stick well.
If you don't want to go through the trouble, you could sell it and buy one with the black coating.Comment
