    VQ Trigger Sticking

Just installed a VQ TG2000 trigger...after several hundred rounds the trigger will not reset on it's own... you have to push it forward to fire again.

Any ideas of what the problem may be?

Sounds like the trigger return spring is not pushing the trigger with enough force.

I'm not positive on the internals of the VQ TG2000 trigger group but on a stock 10/22 trigger, this is the little spring and plunger behind the trigger.
The most basic mod is to reverse the orientation of the plunger and spring so the spring is the part contacting the trigger OR cutting a coil off the spring and polishing the top of the plunger.

The problem is that I don't know if your TG2000 has one....

Several folks (myself included) have lowered the pre-travel trigger weight even further by removing this part altogether and using a torsion return spring INSIDE the trigger group or as part of trigger to reset it. This may be how VQ addresses the issue.

Some techniques put a spring around the trigger and others use a "bobby pin" to make a spring that levers off of the hammer pin to push forward on the trigger. Both options net you less resistance on the trigger BEFORE it reaches the point where it will be let off. It's also a smoother draw to this let off point. On my trigger, it almost feels like a single stage trigger as there is almost no resistence and very short takeup before you hit the point where it's business-time.
I tried the bobby pin trick but had to many problems with the hammer binding and the trigger not resetting. I've been thinking about a torsion spring for a while but I have no source for a suitable spring as I'm in New Zealand and I don't think Skeeters torsion spring ships out of the States...

While searching the threads earlier I was intrigued by using a spring under the hammer pin and over the ejector pin and resting on the trigger. I noticed cletus hungwell(Thanks for the idea) mentioned using a bobby pin. I decided to try using this idea to reduce the trigger on my "Project...

I hope this helps. Visit rimfirecentral.com for more details.

PS. From what I've heard, VQ has good customer svc as well. You may just call them and see what parts they say you should check. It may just be gunk (receiver paint, blowback debris, etc) causing forward motion of the trigger to stick.
