I've been looking everywhere and can't find specific numbers. I have never used a torque wrench on a scope, but I have one now, so why not? The video on Midway says to leave base screws at 30in-lbs for factory spec. Whose factory? Is it the same across the board? I haven't found anything for ring torque. I'm using leupold STD rings and base with a Mark4 M3. Can anyone help or direct me to the answer? How necessary is precision torque on rings, bases, etc.?

across the board
30ip base to rifle
15ip ring to scope
65ip ring to baseLast edited by Stockton; 05-31-2009, 9:53 AM. -
Why so light on the scope? I haven't tried it but isn't hand tight a bit more than 15ip?

Scope is so light so as not to bend or crush the scope tube. Between the two rings and eight screws that hold the scope, there is plenty of holding power. In any type of fight, & especially gun fights, there are no winners ..... just varying degrees of losers. The only fight you win is the one you never get into.
