Problem Solved

Winchester can be funny with what parts they sell. If you can't locate it then send it to Midwest Gun Works. They are the only authorized repair center and they usually have in stock the parts they won't sell to the public. They have done repairs for me in the past. They do excellent work.Comment

This could be caused by a number of things. It could be anything from a broken safety lock plunger to the safety no longer engaging properly on the face of the cocking piece. Don't just buy parts and hope that it solves the problem. Contact a competent gunsmith and have them find out why it's not working so that they can correct the problem.Comment

Safety won't move. Removed bolt sleeve assembly, soaked the heck out of it, helped a bit. When safety does finally move it is difficult to move and feels rough. Other than buying a new assembly is there something to try? Is there someone in between Sac and Placerville to take it too? I have only taken the firing pin assembly out of the bolt and have not done anything else. Thanks, Randy
I can re-fit your fire control and associated safety parts for you.Comment
