Daniel Defense M4 Forend removal help

How do I get the threaded ring off that is to the rear of the forend? Is it possible without a spanner wrench? I could use some help in San Diego if you have the spanner wrench.

You will need a spanner wrench to unscrew this ring. You will also need a tool to unscrew the inside ring. It's the barrel nut wrench with 3 prongs on it. Just buy both. Better than borrowing them.

Too bad you wasred the money, IMO. I remove these all the time with a plain old strap wrench. Easier than screwing in a lightbulb.

You won't get one off with a strap wrench after I installed it.
I have and use the proper DD spanner wrench.

You are probably right. But at factory torque specs (32 ft lbs.) it's not a problem at all. I don't torque them down any more than what DD suggests.
