Randall did I do this bullet guide correctly?

I brought it back as far as I dared to get a little overhang on the mag body

This is a newer design Dinzag guide, which has some offset so the screw hole goes at BDC, and there is a lot more guide off to the left than the right.

I have a little room in the countersink hole for back/forward adjustment. Do I need to worry about it get moved around under fire?

    Thanks!!

Does it stick back even with the lower tang of the trunnion that catches the mag?

It is close, just a little forward of the tang about .030". I could not capture it exactly with my phone, but when I put a straight edge against them it leans forward just a tad, and if I lean it back to perpendicular to the rails I see that size of a gap.

The outside radius of the screw head is right up against the edge of the trunnion, perhaps inside just a tiny bit. That was as far as I dared go.

      Does it look ok? Thanks!

Here it is looking up from the bottom

It looks fine to me. Shouldn’t have a problem moving around any.

It should be fine. The below pic's are of a 5.45 guide I installed in a flat bottom trunnion Saiga. As you said there is more of the guide to the left side than the right.

It's Bulgarian NOS ... Got a few from Arsenal back when they were available. I had to modify it a bit to remove the camming surface on the left side, as the Saiga has the "bump" rivet to start the bolt to turn.

                    Works like a charm.

It's interesting that the 5,45 guide has the groves to help guide the cartridge, but the 7.62 doesn't. Probably has something to do with the smaller diameter bullet or case mouth...

I noted the same thing and that was also my guess.

                      Thanks for the info!
