Rivet a real bullet guide?

If I get a true bullet guide for a Saiga conversion can it be riveted without removing the front trunnion?

I have made 3 attempts at tooling to set a bullet guide rivet on a trunnion without removing the trunnion from the reciever.
There's just not enough room in between the receiver and trunnion to properly buck a bullet guide rivet.
I have never been as happy with a bullet guide rivet that was set with the receiver on the trunnion as I am with the bullet guide rivets I set without a reciever on the trunnion.
I recommend sticking with a screw if you do not want to remove the trunnion from the reciever to do it right.

Ok, makes sense. Can the front trunnion be removed and reinstalled without damaging the receiver?
