    ROBAR Closing

I heard from someone in a FB group that they were no longer doing gun finishing. So I sent them an email about it and this was the response:

    Dear Valued Customer,

We regret to inform you that we will be closing our doors September 27th, 2019. We are no longer taking in ANY work. We are working to finish all the projects we have in house at this time to get them back to the customers as quickly as possible

    The ROBAR Companies, Inc.

I'm bummed out as I really like the NP3 finish I have on one of my 1911s. I wonder how the "lifetime warranty" will be handled?

Seems sad that one of the pioneers of advanced firearm plating is going out of business.

Lifetime warranties are only good as long as the lifetime of the company.
The answer is that they will probably not be doing any "handling" of warranties after they close.

Find another plater who can do electroless nickel and you are gtg.

That's a real shame. It seemed like they served an important niche in the market.

Any suggestions? I was actually going to tap into ROBAR for some upcoming work. Sad to hear.
Life was simpler, and more honest, when revolvers and lever actions were the rule.
