Older shotgun, probably 1920's or 30's. It only fires one barrel. The barrel that does not fire puts a small dent on the shot primer, but i guess not enough to set the primer off. I know you probably need more info. Do you think it needs a new firing pin?

Do you think it needs a new firing pin?

Could be a broken firing pin.
Could be a bound up (gunk) keeping the firing pin from getting full travel.
Could be a messed up or gunked up spring keeping the pin from getting a full power hit.
First step it to detail strip it and clean it and inspect to figure out what's happening.
Inspection will reveal the problem and hence the solution.

I took it apart myself and swapped the firing pins. No go, the same barrel makes a dent on the primer and the other still does not. So the pins are fine. The wood is broken to where i can see the hammer and firing pin on the side that wont fire. When i pull the trigger i can see the hammer does not hit the firing pin on the side it wont fire. The hammer stops about a 1/8 of an inch before the firing pin. Any idea? Is there a way to adjust the hammer at all?

Keep taking it apart until you figure out what is stopping the hammer.
Perhaps some broken wood is poking in front of the hammer.
Solve the hammer problem and it will probably start firing again.
