Glock 19 slide release issue sort off

I have been having an issue with my slide release. I dont actually think it is the slide release because it does what it is suppose to. When depressed the slide releases. My issue is that the slide does not close completely when a loaded magazine is present. With no magazine it cycles just fine but when you place a loaded mag in and release the slide it stops about 1/16"short of closing. It picks up round and loads in chamber but does not completely close. If you cycle by hand and pull back the slide it closes completely and weapon fires. It also functions correctly and cycles when discharged.

Any ideas? I thought about upping the poundage of my recoil spring to see if that will solve issue.

Failing to completely close with a round in the chamber is a sign of barrel fitting problems.
This is common on guns where parts have been swapped and not fitted correctly.
This is very rare (almost non-existent) on factory stock guns because factory guns are built to industry standards to guarantee that ammo fits correctly.

Thinking of the simplest things first:

          1) do you lube the slide where the barrel meets the ejection port?
          2) have you inspected for brass pieces around the slide and the chamber that may be preventing it from going into battery?
          3) have you tried different mags?
          4) have you tried different ammo?

          hope that helps.
