    Alumahyde II

The Brownell's site doesn't say how long it takes to cure (only that it can be accelerated to 2 days with heat). Any experience?

I usually give it 2 to 3 weeks to cure. Temp has to be over 60 degrees F.

Yep, takes a while. If you have an older oven with a pilot light on all the time that will help it as it is usually over 100 degrees in there.

It is pretty tough for spray paint but it doesn't like some chemicals like brake cleaner.

The more time the better with Alumahyde 2. It's great stuff, I refinished 2 AK's with it and I have put at least 2000 rounds and some pretty rough handling and it's held up well.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

I have used it and LIKE IT
Follow the directions....Thin coats and DO NOT USE on parts that
          are critical fit.
          EXAMPLE......Revolver side plate..Trigger components..

It is too thick for those applications

For extrior like an Ak refinish....GTG

          To speed up the curring.
OVEN at 200 for for 3 hours.
I have done it on three guns and on numerous parts with no I'll effects
and used a control pice for comparison.
          NO ISSUES

          EDIT:
SPRAY OUTSIDE and use a respairator with a P100 filter

How does it hold up to KG gunkote? Is it the Alumahide II that does better in solvents than the KG? I'm interested in ALHIDE II as well. Are you bringing any to the BP?

KG and Norrells are better products compared to AH II.
Sand blast is the only thing that will get them off.............

              Guess I will bring them.
I will be there later in the afternoon
