Saving a Muzzle Device if it's pin and weld.

I got have a pin and weld muzzle device, I don't really care for barrel anymore and I'd like to save the muzzle device. Is it possible to save it? The barrel could be destroyed but I'd like to save the muzzle device.

Usually it's the barrel that's saved and the muzzle device is destroyed.

      Grind the weld

Use a mill to on the pin

      Use some force to unscrew

You might be able to save the brake.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Depends on how it was pin and welded. Some can be saved and others not.

I have done it successfully but it is hard. The way I was able to do so was firmly mounting the barrel and drilling a hole, with a drill press, through the top of the welded pin, in a diameter larger than the original pin and weld. You will have to drill deeper than the welded area. Potentially you could even drill all the way through the pinned side of the comp, and partly into the barrel thread. At that point there is nothing left holding the comp on. At that point, once the comp is off, you can clean up the threads and the barrel should be unharmed. Use a proper bit, a little cooling lubricant, take your time, and hopefully the pin is soft. Good luck
