    front trunion fit

I riveted the trigger guard into my freshly bent AKbuilder flat at the last build party, and now when I fit the front trunion with a magazine in place the trunion sticks out past the end of the receiver. Is this a problem?

This is my first build, thanks

    Questions...

Did you use the correct trigger guard for the KIT ?
    Who made it...Country of origin............
Are you using the correct flat...

And you are using a commie mag for fitting ??

Its a romy G kit, and the trigger guard came demilled with the kit- could have been mis-matched. they are the AKM fixed stock flats I believe, have to look at my invoice. the mag was a steel 10 round, and a pro mag polymer 10 round- seemed to fit the same. The trunion protrudes 1/32 to 1/16".

      Thanks

That is strange...I have never heard of anyone heving issues with an AK builder flat...

Is that steel mag from a commie country????

        EDIT..

        Are the side rails installed???

The steel mag has the rib down the back, don't know where it came from. Like I say, pro-mags fit the same. Rails are not in yet either.

          Thanks

Check and see if the locking hole on the trunnion is cleaned out..
Where the front of the mag hook into..

Another option is e-mail AKBuilder and talk to Curtis to see if he has had
            issues with his recievers

I would not continue assembly ....

I checked it out closer tonight, and with the trunion flush with the receiver, the magazine will fit between the trigger guard and the front trunion. Problem is the catch wont engage the mag fully and wants to push the mag and trunion forward. Looks like a little filling on the catch, or a fitted radlock should fix the problem.
