ak scope mount

Can anyone recommend a good side mounted scope mount, ideally one that can be removed.
I have seen some that the base gets riveted to the receiver. But can someone recommend one that they have used?, I thinking of adding a red dot scope just for fun.

AK side mounted scope rails are mounted with rivets and not removable. Dust cover mounted ones don't hold zero, don't waste your money. I think your best option is this. http://www.laruetactical.com/pics/la...k-irondot.html

For side mounts, you can get either the one you have to rivet or the screw-in type. I have both and they both work fine. Bought mine from tantal@sbcglobal.net. Email him for his latest catalog. It may seem expensive, but it's the good stuff. He also has several different types depending on how authentic you want your AK to be.

If you don't want to deal with riveting, get a Beryl mount. If you have a Tantal with left side selector, a Bery-type mount is your best option.

tantal has a really nice screw mount soviet rail. i have one. MPK 2. on that you mount a bp-02 scope rail(low mount) or a bp-01 (high mount). detaches with a lever. standard weaver rail. you can also find a number of soviet scopes that attach directly to the siderail.

What is to LOL about? With irons I am doing 3" groups at 100 yards on a good day with my Vepr in .308, and with 4X scope I am able to do 1"....

i use one of thoes cheapo quickdetach ones... put a red dot on it and it holds zero like a champ...
