    new here !

hey ,I am new here and trying to learn this place but i have question if anybody can help, i have a springfield milspec .45 that my gf just loves and basically claims it for her very own but every once in awhile a shell will fly back and nail her on the forehead, and it tends to rip up the brass every once in awhile any thoughts on how to correct this ?

Put a longer ejector in. Which involves knocking out a pin, installing the new ejector, and putting the pin back in. Ejectors for the 38 Super and 9mm are longer, but tend to be wider and require widening the ejector slot milled into the slide. Longer ejectors for the 45 acp should not have this problem.
However, you will then need to open the ejection port a bit, since the brass will now be kicked more to the side, rather than up. Doing that should also take care of the mangled brass issue.
