    2011 frame Phantom jig

I have an 80% 2011 frame that I am finishing up.

I also have a Phantom jig.

Using longer dowel pins allows the jig to sit nicely on the frame.

Has anyone here used a Phantom jig on a 2011 size frame?

    Thanks,

    G.

I'm right in the middle of my first 2011 project myself, I was planning on using a matrix precision rail cutter. I have no input on you'r jig but, please keep us updated on your outcome with whatever means you use.

I've seen a lot of success just running 220 sandpaper over the rails in slow controlled method after the bulk of the rails has been cut by a jig/mill; followed by lapping compound.

          Mosin,
Do you think the Phantom jig can be made to work?

I'd prefer the Matrix jig, but this is what I have now.

          Thanks,

          G.

legal issues aside, the sides of the phantom jig would need to be relieved for the shape of the 2011 frame to make sure the cutter can reach the rail section of the frame. I don't know if they modified the jig already for that. Matrix to me has been a much better choice.
