On the gas piston and ring of a Mossberg 930 shotgun:
Do you think it is a good idea/beneficial to either hard chrome/electroless nickel that part to improve corrosion resistance, make that part " more slippery " and therefore make the shotgun more reliable?
I know that the " Pro " series of Mossberg had Boron nitride coating from the factory on some of the internal parts. But the model I bought is a cheap Security model without the BN. So I am thinking of either the hard chrome or electroless nickel.
