Buckmark missing a piece?

Hi guys,

One silly question. I just got a buckmark from a PPT and it was real dirty. Went to take it apart to clean it and noticed something different with mine vs the youtube how-to. In the video (example image 1) the recoil spring looks like it is compressed prior to being inserted. Mine, (image 2) I have to squeeze into the recoil buffer and work it in. Definitely harder than it looked. Am I missing a clip or something that holds the spring on??

The original guide rod holds the spring captive.
Looks like you have a accessory guide rod that does not hold the spring captive. (Note: pics too small for me to really see anything).
Advantage to accessory guide rod is the spring weight can be changed to match the choice of ammo being used.
Disadvantage is they are harder to put together.
Make sure your spring matches your ammo (possible that you have a light weight spring for subsonic loads?)

Pics are kind of poor, but if there is a groove at the end of the rod the little circlip has gone AWOL, a common occurrence. The good news is the pistol works perfectly without it, it's just a bit inconvenient. They are available sporadically, but pricey for such a little item. Try these sources if you must have one, or try your local industrial hardware supply.

Thank you! I have no idea about spring weight. It only came with one though, no extras. Guess I need to go shoot it and see how it handles.
