Black oxide

Anyone know who can do black oxide finish on stainless steel in California?
First hand experience is preferred.

Anyone can apply it "cold" at home. But if you want it done "hot," there's a few places.

This product is great. You must degrease really good for positive results. Scroll down for the stainless blackening product they sell. I haven't used that one yet.

has anyone used this process to finish complete rifles?

I have a Springfield Loaded Stainless 1911. Do you think I would be able to use the stainless blackening solution on the whole frame and slide then polish all of the flats spots back down to a mirror stainless finish again? Thus creating a black on stainless finish.

Any comments?
