    S&W Model 622

    I have a s&W Model 622 .22LR pistol I was going to clean it but don't know how to take it apart.

    Start with that metallic, silver colored component, yeah, the big one...sell it to your local gun shop, and get the New SW imported Walther SP22 M3. It's so choice.

      Haha yeah thought about that but ended up just buying a SW1911 .45..... That gun has only fired one round in about 12 years or more

        Relatively easy. Required "tool" is a fired .22lr case.

        The square block on top of the slide holds the recoil spring in place.

        To remove this block:
        1) Put the open end of the case onto the round post located at the front of the slide, close the slide carefully.
        2) Lift the block straight up, recoil spring is free.
        3) Move slide to rear, lift recoil spring assembly out.
        4) Jiggle slide upwards.

        Reassemble in reverse.
