    AK Side folder question

    Two parter:
1-what is the length of an AK 74 with the stock folded?
2-is the stock something that can be taken on/off easily when travelling out of state?

are you talking about the real side-fold stocks and not the bolt on type?

#1..under the Commiefornia 30in minimum but over the federal

#2...There is a guy here on the parts for sale section that sells a part
that locks the stock open and can be removed easily
so it folds like normal when out of state.

        edit...
There is nothing easy about working on the locking assembly
        of a side folder

An AK74 sidefolder without a muzzle attachement (or an AMD folder with a 16in barrel) and a 16 in barrel is about 25 inches folded. A wire folder or anyother folder that attaches to a regular rear stock trunion with the tang in tact is about 26 inches with the stock folded. Adding an AK74 muzzle brake increases it by 2.5 inches.

If 47's and 74's have the same thread on the barrel I have a nice long extended brake.
