    Citori rust? Requesting advice

    Hello all,

Been looking for an over under and found one that needs a lot of TLC. Wondering if what looks to be surface rust is something to be majorly concerned about? Action still opens and closes and as far as I know it dry fires and still works.

    Thoughts?

Don't dry fire without snap caps. The firing pin can break.

Hard to tell by the barrels but it looks like a lot of plastic wad build up. A bronze brush and a wad cutter solution will clean that up. The rust on the receiver face use some 0000 steel wool and a solvent will take care of that . Just remove the surface rust and don't try to buff too hard. Any pitting will not be a issue. Be carful not to remove and bluing.

Thanks for the advice every one but decided to pass on it. The owner changed his mind on his asking price and went from 600 to 1300.

So passing for a better condition one.

He got real proud of his neglect. Sounds like you are better off.
