    AK builder in NorCal?

Sorry in advance if there is such existing thread out there. I have not been on this forum in a long time!

I have couple of Yugo M72 RPK kits with AK builder M72S (16" barrels) that I would like to put together. i also have the 100% receivers and all the other 922r compliant parts that goes in the build to complete it.

any builders in the Bay or Center Valley?

    thanks!

You can try Solar Tactical in Livermore. They have built two for me, and the quality of work is awesome.

The inconvenience of poor quality lingers long after the thrill of a good bargain.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did give them a call. Their total build and finish cost is on par with Two rivers arms. at that price point, I prefer to get Two rivers arms to build a correct Iraqi Al Quds carbine clone IMHO.

Where to get a jig kit for a 1.5mm receiver? the jig kit sold by AK-Builder is only good for 1mm receiver! Thanks!

AK builder jig has optional punches for other receivers.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I did call K-Builder, the gentelman on the phone told me that if I go ahead and try to use the jig with my 1.5mm blanks then "the fire control group hols will be off"

Two Rivers Arms is GTG. They do an excellent job all around and will build to order. It's $$$, but you get what you pay for. Everything gets done right from the correct finish, correct engravings, down to the packing when the rifle gets shipped.

Here's a 16" M72B1 that they did for me. I believe the current lead time is around 90 days.

Jig for a pre bent? or punch and die for a Flat?

I can tell you from experience that the AK builder punch and die will bend a flat spot on. but you need to use the proper punch and they make three of them 1mm, 1.3mm, and 1.5mm punches

I agree. TRA craftsmanship is excellent. My friend bought their "last PSL" 6 years ago, and to be honest, its the best looking PSL I've seen!

I did talk to Sean to get some pricing and LT/ETA. the gentleman was very knowledgeable, professional with exceptional customer service.Their minimum charge was $600 with me providing all the parts. That's not including any engraving, shipping and handling fees. To be honest, that is close to double what it will cost me to have it build at a known reputable Class 7 builder with cerakote or semi gloss ALUMA-HYDE finish.

If price sensitivity is a significant factor, then it's probably an easy call, given the above information.
As with anything that involves craftsmanship/skill, reputation is a big deal.
Looking forward to seeing some cool pictures once everything is done!
