I recently purchased a used M16A2 style upper (I may have to replace the barrel but that's another story.) My question is regarding the elevation on the rear sight. When qualifying in the Marine Corps, the setting for 200 yards started at 8/3 minus 2 clicks and there was usually a third or fourth click. This upper is at it's lowest at 8/3, there is no minus. Is this normal for civilian A2 sights or is this a defect? Also is it something that can be fixed by reinstalling the sight? If so, how? Thanks in advantage for the knowledge.

No need to reinstall the rear sight assembly because the Elevation adjustment knob is adjustable.
Here is a link to the Santose Improved Battle Sight Zero with pictures:
Granted the Santose IBZ is not what you've trained with in the Marines, but the mechanics are nonetheless the same.Originally posted by ChrisTKHarrisThat is one of the most idiotic statements I've heard. You are a retard.
