AMD 65 Handguards without grip?

Are there handguards out there to fit and AMG 65 that do not have a built in handguard? I ask because I want to do a pistol build. These seem pretty affordable compared to Krinkov kits and have a relatively short barrel compared to full size AKs.

I think the grip is easy to remove.

There are AMD's with a lot shorter barrels. Am I giving the wrong number? I am an AK NOOB.

No, the AMD 65 has a shorter barrel but, I think the handgaurds are manufactured the same as the AMD 63's. I'm far from an AK expert myself though.

If you're referring to the metal AMD handguards, the forward pistol grip can come off. However, since it's metal I think it gets pretty hot after shooting it a bit. Although most handguards will fit the Hungarian AK's, they will have to be fitted to the handguard retainer. For some reason it's smaller in diameter then other AK retainers.
