I own one and have been inside it. What's the issue?

I inherited the marlin so I have no past history. I have been inside a few times polished (800 and 1200) and got the action really nice. What happens is when racking about 3or 4th. round will bind just past the loading gate, round is not bound to the gate like so many posts say. The round is so jammed I can not push back in to the tube. After tube is removed one can hardly pull round out. The lever and lift bar are jammed. I cant see were. Ideas? Gun was jamming prior to polishing.
