Has anyone seen this before? An 80% receiver for a Tec-9. But for $355, I'd rather buy something else.

Interesting
I found this while looking for more info.
Tec 9 80% receiver: Logic Industries - 80% Hobby Kits & Parts hmmmmmmm Matrix is working on a 0% 22/45 .22 pistol kit. The upper is the "firearm part" which is just a tube. Apparently going to be easier and less expensive than the sig 80% What's New something that will be similar to this:
The 22/45 looks fun. -
I was talking to Matrix a couple of months ago and they were still working on the "receiver". The receiver for the 22/45 vs the MKI/MKII/MKIII is different in the manner they lock into the grip frame. Maybe they're working on a jig.Interesting

Logic Industries said
I know several guys have bought them in CA, and I know of at least one that has finished his to the satisfaction of his LE buddies, so I know it's possible, I just can't say for sure exactly what has to be done ('cause I don't live in the DPRC). I do know that he had to modify the magazine catch so that it required a tool to remove the magazine to satisfy some AW rule there. Again, I don't know all the details, so you need to talk to someone closer to home that knows the intricacies of the law. I live in MO where everything is legal. Hell, you don't even need a permit to carrying a concealed weapon here.I had a Tec9 (bought new in the 80's) that spontaneously broke into several pieces back in 2014, so this project came about at that time as an effort to fix my own broken gun. Once I had made my own replacement receiver, it seemed like maybe I ought to offer them up to others as a way to revive their broken and useless Tec9's as well.
In all honesty, if you don't already own a broken Tec9, I would not seek one out just to build it with this lower. The parts kits and spare magazines are hard to come by, and the resulting gun is not very useful even when completed. Their main use, near as I can tell, is to convert perfectly good ammunition into noise.
If you already have a Tec9 that is broken, this is a good way to get it back up and running, and maybe learn a little about metal working. If you don't, I would suggest maybe waiting until I get the next project into production, which will be a similar looking gun offered as a more or less complete kit of parts with an 80% lower receiver. Those kits should be ready to sell toward the end of 2017.I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

That guy is a great guy. He makes a lot of cool stuff he’s even working on an 80% Mossberg. He makes 41 Lincoln push button repops too. I bought a set of those for my custom project. You can bet anything you get from him is top notch.Comment

Okay now I get it, thanks for explaining that RogueSniper.
He's not trying to bring back the tech 9s,
but keep people from throwing away their parts left over from their broken Tech 9s and rebuilding them as a gun that's probably going to be more durable than the factory versions.
Just
Let me know when he starts selling those 80% pythons.

Other than the coolness factor. Those Tec9s sucked badly. I wouldn't even rely on one of those to commit suicide.Comment
