First timer... i got a good deal on a kit and i wanted to build it out. but i heard that aftermarket slides can have very tight tolerances. are there any specific brands that might be more forgiving. i have a gen 3 so i'll be using the slide to test them out but i'd like to buy a nice slide and barrel later.

I just finished my build. Got a Swenson slide $149 and a Lantac Barrel. Agency drop in trigger and cheap parts kits from Midway. The gun passes all the function checks. I will shoot it tomorrow to see how it cycles.

That's a no no with a threaded barrel in ca. You have just posted to everyone that you have broke the law with this build. Be a,responsible gun owner and fix that barrel and remove the picture.
