Did you check your gas system? Making sure that you have enough gasses impacting onto the piston to drive the bolt carrier back with authority?

Did you clean your gas port, gas valve in good shape, piston in good shape? Piston extension in good shape? Piston return spring in good shape?

I had a customer bring me an SKS with functioning problems and after much parts inspection/swapping/fitting, it was simple lubrication that made it work.

          Is your rifle lubed?

Or over lubed? Had someone hand me an SKS that would not cycle after first fire, pulled bolt assembly and literally had oil dripping off assembly and hand. Owner said, "I knew I was going to shoot corrosive ammo so I over-lubed it to prevent problems with corrosion.".

I cleaned all the oil off my hands and assembly I could using tissues being at the range, cleaned off remaining oil in magazine/ammunition, sighted it in and had no problems through multiple reloads.

Yes, I know this is most likely not the issue, but don't overlook the obvious. If the bolt and ammo in mag are wet with oil, something is wrong!

            Peace.

My Yugo gas valve was badly worn. Murray’s has a good stainless steel one.

For some reason there was an insurance overcharge, just $2. It’s something that could have been easily overlooked.

Murray’s sent me the $2, cash too.

That gas valve fits a lot tighter than the old one.
